Free trade and the trade war (FR)

Tuesday 8th Juli 10 P.M. - 1 P.M.

Martial Toniotti

Language: French

Over the last 30 years, international trade and the global division of labour have undergone major changes. These changes have led to the material conditions that have given rise to the trade war we are currently experiencing. Where do these changes come from? What is driving the US trade war? What is happening to global balances?  What is the class character of free trade and protectionism? All these questions will be addressed.

Martial Toniotti is a doctoral student in economics at UCLouvain and works on the economics of energy and the taxation of wealth.
